The members of the Rotary Club of Harwich-Dennis welcome you to our web site!  Our club was founded in 1948 by our first president, Robert Stone, and a group of dedicated community leaders, who, like ourselves, wished to promote the Rotary International humanitarian motto of "Service Above Self" in our Mid-Cape communities.  The Rotary Club of Harwich-Dennis is organized under the guidelines of Rotary International and is a member of Rotary District 7950, which encompasses the southeastern part of Massachusetts, including Cape Cod and the Islands, as well as Rhode Island. Our district proudly includes some of the early clubs located in the Northeast.

The Rotary Club of Harwich-Dennis conducts its weekly meetings on Thursday mornings starting promptly at 7 AM at the renowned Grumpy's Restaurant located on Route 6A in East Dennis.  Our meetings are marked by Rotary's famously friendly spirit as well as interesting programs including knowledgeable speakers accompanied by extraordinary breakfast cuisine!  You will be warmly received by members of the Rotary Club of Harwich-Dennis whether visiting during the rush of tourist season or the more relaxed climate provided by Cape Cod winters.  Our members reflect a diversity of professional interests including but not limited to banking, real estate, construction, retail, law, ministry, consulting, insurance, health care, and tourism.  Our membership also reflects the increasingly diverse educational backgrounds, outside interests, and experience that characterizes our growing Cape Cod communities.

The Rotary Club of Harwich-Dennis conducts a number of fun-filled events each year to fund good works that we sponsor on a local, national and international basis.  These events include:

*Annual Scallop Festival conducted following Columbus Day

*Annual Golf Tournament held in late spring

*Annual 5K Run-Walk early spring event named after our first president

The Rotary Club of Harwich-Dennis sponsors a significant number of organizations with annual contributions typically exceeding $30,000.  Locally a diversity of organizations are supported including but not limited to: The Boy Scouts, The Girl Scouts, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, CHAMP House for homeless adolescents, After Prom for the local high schools, Child and Family Services, Cape Cod Literacy, Dream Day of Cape Cod, The Cape Cod Times Needy Fund and the Harwich Food Pantry.  Additionally, ten annual scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors from Dennis-Yarmouth High School, Harwich High School and Cape Cod Technical High School.  On the national and international scenes, organizations such as American Red Cross and the Rotary International Clean Waters Project are supported.
